The big day was finally here. It was a busy morning with Dix leaving early to go to the gym and Hayden having violin at 8 am. I managed some cinnamon rolls for breakfast, then it was off to school for the three younger schoolkids, run to pick Hayden up from violin, drop him at school, off to the store to pick up ingredients, back home to bake cookies, back to the school to drop off cookies and pick up Regan, then back home to finally relax. Well, I wouldn't call what I do during the day relaxing. But it was definitely not as busy as my morning. I baked a birthday cake, made ANOTHER trip to the store to get the things I forgot the first time and tried to find the horizontal surfaces in my house. I know they're SOMEWHERE under the clutter! Porter had a nice day. He was excited for me to bring some cookies into his classroom and was especially excited to get to play Wii today (something that is usually reserved for the weekend only). I made his favorite dinner: Shepherd's pie and favorite salad, more commonly referred to as "fave" around here. We had about a three minute window to sing happy birthday before we all had to run off in different directions again. Dix got home at 6:25 and Landon was supposed to be at Cub Scouts at 6:30. So we sang at 6:25 and Landon was a few minutes late. We opened presents on Saturday, so that was all the celebrating that we did today. I can't believe he's 12! He will receive the
Priesthood and be ordained a Deacon on Sunday. He's excited and a little nervous. He's been working really hard on memorizing the
Articles of Faith which is the last thing that he needed to do to earn his
Faith in God award. He was struggling a little with the 10th and 11th, but I think he has them.
Here we are singing "Happy Birthday" to Porter. He just got this new video camera (an i-Flip) for his b-day so he has it all recorded on video. Along with about everything else that has happened in our home since Saturday. I'd better be careful not to scratch my rear or something gross like that because chances are--he'll catch it on video.

Here he is with his haul. He got his camera, a model Lamborghini, a Bionicle, Super Smash Bros Brawl for Wii, candy bars, and some money from both Grandma and Grandpa A, and Grandma and Grandpa Hoho. He spent the money on the cool Lego Creator set. Love Legos. Hate finding them ALL OVER MY HOUSE. It was a good birthday.

Wow! Twelve! That's quite a milestone year. Now you have two boys in YM's! :)
Happy Birthday Porter! Congrats on receiving the priesthood. I can't believe you're twelve already, time has flown by way too fast. What an awesome b'day present. I know you'll have lots of fun with that!
Happy birthday, September 16th is a great day to have a birthday. How exciting that he gets the priesthood, I am excited for when Dax gets to do that.
