It is summer, right?

We have the weirdest weather here. Okay today we have experienced some sunshine, some wind, and some rain...in all it's varieties. Sprinkles, downpour, mist, showers, drizzle, oh and let's not forget rain. Yes, it was wet today. And cold. I actually turned on my furnace in JUNE!! Funny story, really. Hayden was complaining about how cold the house was this morning, so I told him that I would check the thermometer in the family room and if it was below 64 degrees I would turn on the heat. It was 63.8. So I turned on the heat. I got it to 68 which was the warmest (by far!) that our house has been all week. I feel kind of bad having the house so cold with Cooper crawling around. It's June, for heaven's sakes!

Do you remember the picture I posted about a week ago of Cooper in a backpack? Well, I told Landon that his show and tell had to fit into his backpack and...well, it turns out that Cooper fits! So today I took Cooper to school for the last ten minutes or so to be Landon's show and tell. The whole class was so excited. Landon got to sit on the show and tell stool and tell everyone about his brother. He told them that he is nine months old and can clap and crawl. Ms. Benson asked him what he eats, and Landon got a weird look on his face. I think he was embarrassed because he didn't want to say that he nurses. So he completely ignored the question and moved on to the next one. Cooper wouldn't perform at all. We got the whole class to say, "yay!" because Cooper usually claps when you say yay. But he wouldn't do it. And then he wouldn't crawl when Landon set him on the floor...until Riley (Landon's best friend) put a ball on the floor a few feet in front of him and Cooper just had to have it. Everyone cheered for him. It was really cute.

Dix and I went out tonight to dinner and a movie. Let me tell you all what a sacrifice that is for me. I hate movie theaters. I go once a year, for Dixon's birthday and that's it. We went to Chili Thai with the Falters (at the same time that a group of our friends in AZ went to Line Thai), and had some great curry and Pad Thai...yum. Then we went to the theater. Dix realized that he had lost his phone just as he was sitting down, so he went out and retraced his steps while Sandy started calling his cell phone. Somebody picked it up and said, "Are you looking for a lost cell phone?" So luckily somebody nice found it and we got it back pretty quickly. It had fallen out of the truck in the parking lot (and remember, it was wet outside), so it was a good thing that we realized it was missing so soon. We watched the new Indiana Jones movie which was really pretty good, but I'm no movie critic. I like anything with Harrison Ford in it! He was looking a little older than in his other movies. But since he IS older, I guess that's acceptable. We came home to a very quiet home. Four kids asleep. And luckily it was the four little kids. Hayden said that Cooper cried for quite a while, but he handled it just fine. What a guy. It looks like we won't be able to do yardwork or go for a bike ride tomorrow because of inclement weather. The forecast is rain and 58 degrees. So I guess we'll do some work INSIDE the house tomorrow. Don't you love rainy Saturdays?

I am so sick of the rain! I refuse to turn the heat on this time of year because we need the financial break from those heating bills, but I have been turning on the gas fireplace. Crazy, huh?

Rob loves the movie theater, too. He love the whole experience. It's okay for me, but I'd rather stay home and watch a video and not pay $30 for food. The whole theater experience is so expensive!

I am glad you go to go out on a date. What is it that you don't like about movie theaters? Not that I am concerned, we rarely get to go anyway. I second the feeling toward the weather right now, it stinks!
