The Scriptures, according to Turner

Tonight, when we were reading the scriptures, Turner, who is six, was looking ahead, trying to find the longest verses and positioning himself so that he could read them aloud. He LOVES to read. And he's quite good. He can usually read his verses with very little correction. Tonight's verses were read without correction. But they weren't correct. We were just too busy laughing to correct him. Here is the verse that he read, out of the Book of Moroni in the Book of Mormon:

21 Wo unto such, for they are in danger of death, hell, and an endless torment. I speak it boldly; God hath commanded me. Listen unto them and give heed, or they stand against you at the judgment-seat of Christ.

Here is what he said, "Wo unto such, for they are in danger of death, hell, and an endless tournament. I speak it bloody; God hath commanded me. Listen unto them and give heed, or they stand against you at the judgment-seat of Christ."

We just laughed and laughed. But he didn't even pause. He just kept going.

The funny thing is, in the next verse, when I was about to help him with the word, "availeth," he just said it! Without pausing or sounding out or anything. Man, that kid is amazing!
