I was surprised, because I didn't know that he had the skills to read those that fast AND most importantly, I didn't realize he had the attention span to read for that long at a time! Well hallelujah, he could do it! I have been taking advantage of the quiet time that our family enjoys while he is reading by encouraging him to read more and more each day! He is now enjoying Mouse and the Motorcycle by Beverly Cleary. Each book that he reads he is getting better and faster and more proud of himself. The boys think it would be cool if Turner reads the Harry Potter books before he finishes first grade. Haha, we'll see. :)

Reading
As many of you know, our family reads. A lot. I am a big reader. Dix loves to read. Each of our children has been a fairly early reader and has enjoyed reading. Landon is an especially prolific reader.
Most recently, Regan has started reading a lot and is enjoying it. Well, not to be outdone, Turner decided to become my earliest chapter book reader. He started by reading a few Horrible Harry books at school. He brought some home and read them at night, finishing a book in just a half hour or so.
(This is how I remember my childhood--laying around with an apple and a book!)
