Monday

Today was Hayden's first day of Driver's Ed. You have to take it in order to get your license before age 18, so we girded up our loins and decided to do the summer session since the school year is just too busy. They don't do it during school anymore like they used to in the olden days when I was in high school. But speaking of high school, his teacher was the wrestling coach when I was a wrestling cheerleader at Timberline. No, he didn't remember me.

We got some chores done this morning (yay!) and then we headed to the free lunch program at noon. Dix and Grandpa were replacing the water pump on the Suburban, so I took four of the kids in the Passat, while Hayden rode his bike and Landon got a ride with the Curtis family. Regan decided to stay for Playground Pals (a free program for kids that includes crafts, games and a snack). I was taking two Falter kids home, so I didn't have enough space in my car so I had to make two trips. I ended up with two Falter kids and a Shoops, so we had a fun afternoon. After my 5:30 piano lesson we headed over to the Falters for dinner. Porter and Austin were busily building a tree house, the little kids were running all over the place and Hayden and Brooklyn went to a movie (with a bunch of kids, not on a date). I got introduced to the game Boggle, and we had some good laughs. After a while the Andertons came over and somehow I ended up getting a foot massage. It was awesome.
We ended up staying way too late, so the kids will be tired tomorrow. It was worth it, we haven't just had time to hang out with friends in forever.
