The weatherman lied. It actually happens a lot up here in the Pacific Northwest. It was supposed to be partly sunny today, but I don't think I saw an actual sunbreak during the day. It didn't rain though, so that's something. We slept in this morning with the excuse being that I'm resting up for my race tomorrow. No, no one else bought it either. We had park day at 10, so we got morning chores done and then went to that. My friend Pam dropped her three kids off there because I was watching them for her today. Our Suburban is still not running, so I farmed out kids to several cars (thanks guys) and put the rest in with me in my parents car that I had borrowed. I made about 15 grilled cheese sandwiches (not even exaggerating!), and sent everyone outside for the afternoon. Hayden had swim team at 4, so he rode his bike there, swam, rode back (a little over six miles each way with some significant hills), then went on a three mile run. Nutcase.
Speaking of nutcases, I think I have decided to train for a full marathon either this fall or next summer. I'm totally excited to race tomorrow and want to do more! (I know what you're thinking, let's wait and see how she feels about this tomorrow!)
Late this afternoon I remembered that Porter still hadn't passed off a swimming thing he needed to do for scouts. Dix and Hayden were both gone, which left me without a babysitter, so I was ready to load up in the car when I realized I also didn't have a working vehicle. So we loaded up on our bikes and rode down to the lake. While we were on the dock Cooper told me that he had to pee, so I pulled down his pants and let him pee in the lake. No biggie, he's only two. Next thing I know, I look over and Landon is peeing into the lake, too! And there were quite a few people close by. Dingbat. Landon and Regan both got to be drowning victims for Porter to pull in. Afterwards I let them play in the lake for about half an hour before we went home.
It's off to bed to get ready for the race! Hope all goes well! I have to leave at 4 am, so I'll be a tired girl tomorrow night!
