Huh?

My parents just gave me a new non-stick frying pan. I was glancing at the "Use and Care" directions and had to do a double take. I thought surely I was losing it, because I thought I saw the word "bird" on the directions. So I looked again, and here is what I read:

"CAUTION: For safety, please keep pet birds out of the kitchen. Birds' respiratory systems are sensitive to many kinds of household fumes, including the fumes from extremely overheated non-stick pans."

Okay, first of all...how random is that?

Secondly...people should keep their birds out of the kitchen just because birds don't belong in kitchens.

And lastly...if birds' respiratory systems are sensitive to the fumes, shouldn't we be a little worried about our own respiratory health?

Just a thought.

I keep birds in the kitchen all the time. Usually in the oven until they have an internal temperature of 145 degrees.

Didn't you hear of the bird that died from the fumes that are caused by heating non stick pans too long. Too funny that they now have a warning about birds.

You need to send that to Jay Leno. I'm sure he'll still be doing a headlines segment when he starts his new show this Fall. Too funny.

Now I know why our bird ended up with asthma. :)

That is exciting that your parents are back. I was in the ward when they left and you had just moved in. It feels like forever since I was there.
