The Eagle Has Landed, Part 2/5

We had our second Eagle Court of Honor tonight.  Landon completed his project in September, finally got all the paperwork submitted in February, had his Board of Review on March 6th (the day before he turned 14), and had his Court of Honor today, May 17th.  It was a nice, simple ceremony.

For his project, Landon did a toy drive to benefit the Pediatric Unit at the Thunderbird Banner Hospital.  In addition to the toy drive, he also led about 120 Cub Scouts in each building a toy for the hospital.  Here are some pictures of the process.

The pictures that we have of tonight were all pretty bad.  But I guess you'll get the idea.  Next time we'll try to find a photographer over the age of 11.

 Sitting in the Eagle's Nest!
Mr. Corcoran, his principal, agreed to speak for a few minutes.  He talked about how important it is for these boys to accomplish the rank of Eagle Scout.  And he flat out told Porter that he will regret it forever if he doesn't finish, so get it done!  (Porter turns 18 in September, so the clock is ticking....loudly.)
Landon also spoke for a few minutes.  He gave his mentor pin to Hayden.  Well, he didn't really give it to him, but he WILL give it to him in 14 months.  He gave a sweet tribute to his biggest brother.

And lastly, his slideshow.
