Surprisingly, my kids weren't really excited about the last day of school. That says something, doesn't it? They LOVE their school, they LOVE their teachers, they LOVE the staff, they LOVE their friends, they saw the list of chores they would have every day this summer. Ha.
In any case, the last day of school rolled around. They had to say goodbye to some very special people. Ms. Hall was Turner's teacher in both first and second grades. She was very supportive of him and all of her students, attending some of their out of school programs, including their baptisms. She pushed Turner in school, helping him to become the great student and young man that he is today. She is a wonderful person that will be missed! She wasn't even his teacher this year, and yet he is mourning her leaving! She is going out of the country to teach for two years.
Mrs. Guevara was Cooper's first grade teacher this year. He wrote her love notes all the time and was constantly talking about how much he loved his teacher. She happened to be Porter's teacher about ten years ago. She has helped Cooper to learn so much this year. He has grown so much academically, but also socially. We love Mrs. Guevara!
She is also a little bit silly.
Our school is moving locations this summer, so we will no longer have this neat mural on our hall wall. These are the Core Values that parent volunteers come in and teach to the students twice a month.
Regan loved her teacher Mrs. Gross. She is the teacher that took on directing a school musical! Regan thought she was the best. She was very patient with Regan and her creative way of doing everything. Regan will miss her very much! But she's still staying at the school, so Regan will probably be doing the musical with her again next year!
Trying to get some shots of Regan with some of her friends. Looks like another friend wants in.
Regan and her two "ginger" friends. And a photo bomber. :)
And Ms. Morrison. Turner went to her classroom for math when he was in second grade, and then had her all day for third grade. Once again, a teacher that went above and beyond for my kids. He loves her dearly. She saw his potential and gave him special assignments to help him achieve more. She taught him so much this year and I am grateful for her. She is also leaving for two years to teach overseas. Turner has cried several days about how much he will miss her.
Sidenote: This picture was taken on the last day of school, after she and Ms Hall (top picture) had just pulled an all nighter with the eighth graders after their promotion. Teachers are the best! May they all have a restful summer!
