Dancing in the Rain

We live in the desert.  It doesn't rain much here.  When it does, it is an event!  The last time it rained was March 18th.  This was the second rainfall of the year.  THE YEAR!!!!  It has only rained twice this year, and it is JULY, people!  So needless to say, when it started raining on our parade (literally!  We were having a Fourth of July parade this morning, pictures to come soon), we were actually EXCITED!  Yay!  Rain.

It only sprinkled during our parade, then sprinkled a little more as we were cleaning out the car and the pet cages.  We definitely took advantage of the cooler temperatures.  It has been over 100 for the high every day for over a month, so when it was in the 80s outside (even though the humidity was way higher than what we're used to), we thought it felt wonderful!

After a couple of hours, the heavens opened and the rain, rain, rain fell down, down, down.  So we all went inside.  To take off our shoes so we could go out and dance and play!!

 Hayden dancing in the rain.

Playing at the reservoir park just down the street.

The children built a dam.  Landon wanted to call it Landon dam.  I prefer Dam Landon.  It seems to fit.
And of course, the Dam Children.

Dam jokes just never get old.
