Projects

Every couple of years, I get the itch to create something. I used to scrapbook, which fulfilled that need, but it's too overwhelming to do that these days, so I decided to do some sewing. I bought some fleece to make some curtains for Regan and Cooper's bedroom, and I had some ideas for a skirt for Regan. So instead of working on the project that I already had all the materials for, I opted to start a new project. I decided to make her a Thanksgiving skirt. My mom and I went to Joann Fabric and got the materials, some thread and a most necessary tool which I needed (since my kids broke my last one), a seam ripper.

Dix and the boys went camping on Friday night, so after I got the little kids to bed, Regan and I got busy. It took about an hour, and she had a cute Thanksgiving skirt, complete with giant orange rick rack. It turned out cute and was so easy. So now I am working on the curtains. The hard part is that I'm hand sewing a blanket stitch around the edges. The needle is having a hard time pulling the yarn through the fleece. Any suggestions? I'll get it done eventually. But meanwhile, I want to start working on a patchwork Christmas skirt for Regan. I saw a tutorial for one and I saw so many cute fabrics that I want to use. I couldn't decide on just one or two, so I decided to do a patchwork style so I can use lots! Should be fun!

Hopefully this desire to create ends soon, because honestly, I'm way to busy to be sewing! :)

Maybe you'd get a picture if my camera hadn't gotten broken by a certain teenage boy the night before halloween. Grrrrr. I'll take one with my mom's camera one of these days and post it! :)
