Never a Dull Moment...: Back to the Grind...

I had such great intentions of blogging all of our summer fun. I failed, miserable. However, it was a fun summer. And busy. When you have a big family, you cannot avoid the busy.

DRIVING!
We started off with a month of driver's ed. Hayden passed with flying colors, and is now waiting for the big day to arrive so that he can get his license (less than two months to go!). I have been pretty nervous about it, but now I'm actually getting excited. I can send him off to lessons or practice or mutual or whatever...and I don't have to drive him there! It will be wonderful! Not so excited about the increase in our car insurance, but I guess that's the price you have to pay!

SWIMMING!
Yes, we did a lot of swimming this summer. It started off in June with Hayden and Landon joining a swim club. Hayden had practice six days a week, Landon twice. It was about a 15 minute drive from the house, so it turned into quite an ordeal. I wasn't sad when the last day of swim team arrived, near the end of August. They both loved it and Landon had huge improvements in his stroke and his fitness level! I was proud of both of them. We also joined a community pool and swam there a lot this summer. Turner and Regan both had to stay in the shallow end, but they were under water most of the time.

Cooper is kind of a mama's boy, so he was either in the baby pool or hanging onto my neck for dear life. He never really got comfortable with it. We discovered a pool in Tacoma with a water slide, lazy river and a zero depth entry pool that was fabulous! It was like the pools in AZ. It's the only one that I know of anywhere near here. We visited there a couple of times. We also frequented the lake, which is just minutes from our house. That's the best place to go to meet up with friends from school. We also went to the beach with our friends the Blumes. We had a great time and super great weather!

TREK
This will have to be a post for another time, there is so much to say. It was an amazing experience that I will never forget. I hope we can do it again next time.

TRIATHLONS!
Hayden did several triathlons, obtaining PRs and even placing in adult divisions! Regan and Landon also did their first triathlon and will be doing another one later this month. They loved it!
