Spring has hit Washington. Our flowers are springing up out of the earth, the trees are blossoming and we've seen a lot of sunshine. We are over a month ahead of schedule! Our camelia bush (which looks like a tree and it's right in front of our family room window) is in full bloom and has been for over a week. It usually blooms right around Regan's birthday which is the end of March!
To top off our lovely spring-ness, I found my missing roller blade! Anyone who knows me well knows how much I love to be outdoors! Not working outdoors, mind you, but being outdoors. Running, walking roller blading, playing, whatever. When we moved here, we had a little transition time when we didn't really know where we would be living. So some of our stuff was in storage, and some was in my parents' house. When we finally moved in, we realized that we were missing a few things. One of those things was my left rollerblade! Every time we have cleaned the garage I thought I would find it, but alas, it was not to be. I had nearly given up hope at finding my lost blade. But I never threw away the remaining one, hoping that someday....
Well, that someday was last Friday. Hayden was preparing to go skiing, and he needed some gear. We went over to my parents' house and opened the door to their ski closet. When what to my wondering eyes should appear, but my blue roller blade, amongst all that ski gear! I was so excited! All week I hoped to go roller blading, but I had about the busiest week ever, and couldn't squeeze any time in (although our weather has been wonderful!). Finally yesterday, I worked really hard to get all my housework and Porter's schooling done in the morning and early afternoon, so when Cooper woke up from his nap around 2, I was ready to play! I put Turner on his bike and Cooper in the stroller and we took off! It was so exhilarating! I couldn't believe how much I had missed it!
And the best part....I still had them on when Landon was getting home from school. I skated up to him and his group of friends that he walks home with. As I did a cute little spin around to head home, I overheard him tell his friends, "My mom is cool!" I hid my smile and raced Landon back home. Later that evening I told him, "I heard you tell your friends that you think I'm cool." He replied with, "You ARE cool mom! You're the coolest mom ever!" And proceeded to tell me how very cool I am. And to think, it just took a pair of rollerblades for him to discover how cool I am.

Thanks for the smile. I agree you are one cool mom!
You're the coolest mom ever! And, you're a good little rhymer too. I wish we could go "blading" together.
