As you may remember, Landon got his driver's permit a couple of months ago. He has been doing pretty well driving, and has learned the rules of the road pretty well. I don't get whiplash too often anymore, and he has learned the gas pedal from the brake pedal.
Most of the time.
As we were driving home from the church on a Tuesday night, we pulled into the driveway. We were driving the van, and Landon is used to driving the little car. As he got the van where he wanted to park, he firmly placed his foot on the brake. Whoops, actually on the gas.
And there's the house!
He was so embarrassed by it that we tried to hide the damage with the garbage and recycle cans.
The damage? We are going to have to jack up the garage, repour part of the concrete, replace some of the lumber, and repair the stucco.
The bumper on the van didn't get much damage. Just a little scratch.
The biggest damage was to Landon's ego. He was so repentant. Yes, I used that to my advantage.
