- Dix and Hayden and Porter were in Utah so I spent the day ALL. ALONE. It was amazing. And a little lonely. I thought I would get so much done, but since my house was such a disaster, it took me way longer to do the normal things. Like three hours to clean two bathrooms. Oy. Swim team parent meeting in the evening. Swim meets are on the calendar. Life is looking busier.
- Cub Scouts and Mutual on Tuesday evening. Cooper also had his Baptismal interview. It's a good thing he did or I might not have heard about Brodie's mission call that he had received just before coming to the church. We stayed at the church until after mutual when he read it. He's going to Colorado Denver South, reporting October 7th. We're so excited for him!
- Regan fixed dinner on Tuesday night because I was so busy. She's a gem.

- Wednesday was a particularly long day for Regan. She had cross country, which starts at 6:30, but she gets up at 5:30 to start getting ready (first day was Tuesday). After school she had NJHS, and as soon as she got home from that she had violin lessons. She loves being busy! Dix and Porter got home late Wednesday night from Utah. Somehow they got a full sized dirt bike in the trunk of our little Nissan Sentra. Where there's a will (and some wrenches), there's a way.
- Thursday on our way home from school the sky was black and threatening. Rain and wind started just after we got home. It was nuts. Our shed blew over and almost went over the wall. Trees are down everywhere. A new build by the church had extensive damage. It ended just before 4, so we were still able to go to cello lessons as planned. I found a super cute gecko on the side of the house that evening.
- On Friday our family picture canvas arrived in the mail! I love it! The missionaries came over for dinner that night. Porter and the band were in another competition that they were one of the winners, which means they get one more concert on September 12th and another recording studio session. They'd better hurry! The band members are going to start leaving in September!

- The big news on Saturday was that it was Cooper's birthday weekend. See previous post for details on the awesome gift that Regan planned for him.
- Today was Cooper's 8th birthday! He was assigned a talk in primary, and Dix and I went in to watch him. Dix slyly took a picture of him, but forgot to turn off his flash so it wasn't sly at all and a bit awkward, actually. But whatever. After church he opened his other presents: Grandma and Grandpa got him new roller blades and Dix made him a new longboard with a land paddle. It's super cute. I can't wait to see him outside on it. We had a giant chocolate chip cookie for his birthday cake, we will do it again next weekend when grandparents and Hayden are here for the baptism.
Other noteworthy stuff from our week:
- Van AC is going to cost $1300 to repair. Not sure what to do. It's so expensive, but we don't want to buy another car...
- Turner had his States and Capitols test this week. He had one week to learn all the states and capitols and where they are on the map. He nailed it. Amazing.
- Apples were on sale at Walmart for $1 for a 5 lb bag. I bought 100 lbs. The applesauce is delish.
- Regan decided to go sugar free for three months, with the exception of birthdays. It always amazes me how she can decide to do something and she does it with no problems.
- Turner has been to the principal's office twice this week.
- Getting up at 4:40 am sucks.
- I ran about half of my four mile run the other day with a thorn in my foot. I felt it go in, but then it only mildly hurt, so I kept going. Got home, got the kids all off to school. Three hours later I finally pulled my shoe off and lo and behold there was a thorn. It felt much better after I pulled it out.
