Am I nuts?

I just registered for the Seattle Rock and Roll Half Marathon, which will be on June 26th. I've been wanting to do this since I started running a year ago and finally feel like I'll be able to do it! So the training runs are stepping up a notch--I'm only running about four and a half miles at a time now, and actually did my first interval training today with Coach Hayden. And might I say, I did not enjoy it one little bit. But I did better than I expected, and was more tired afterwards than I expected, too.

Monday's run is mapped out to be 5.4 miles, so I guess we'll see how that goes. Only problem is, I run during early morning seminary (yes, it's dark, cold and usually raining), and we only have 50 minutes, so we won't be able to do much more than five miles during our regular runs. I guess we'll have to do long runs on Saturdays. I have a training partner and we enjoy talking non-stop during our runs, so I guess this spring we'll learn lots more about each other since we'll be spending more time running!

Plans after the half: Olympic length triathlon in September, and possibly a marathon in the fall, and a half ironman triathlon in the summer of 2011. I'm tired just thinking about it.

Rob was talking about doing that one. Does it also have a full? He wants to do something in WA just because we miss it and it would give us another excuse to go home! Good luck with your training! You can do it! :-)

Yes, it has a full marathon, and I've heard that it fills up quickly, so if you guys are going to be out here, then sign up now! That would be so fun!

Wow you go girl. My brother did the St. George Marathon just over a year ago. Thanks but no thanks! I'll be a cheerleader instead of a participant.

Marks family did that last year & loved it! You have lots of time to train and you will do great, plus doing your long runs on weekends is the best way to do it...good luck!!!

You're totally going to rock that run! If you have the determination to run when the rain comes down and the sun's not up, you can do anything.
