Turner invited his friend Christopher to play laser tag with us for his birthday. It was actually his birthday too! They share the same birthday, but they're one year apart. We took Regan and Cooper as well, and had a blast playing in the arcade while we waited for our session. The kids are such scroungers! They were crawling around looking for coins under and behind the machines, and they pushed the coin return button on every machine, just in case. It paid off, they each found a couple of tokens.
We had the laser tag arena to ourselves. It was just the six of us, me and Dix and these four hooligans. We ran around and had a great time shooting each other for twenty minutes. Christopher's gun didn't work right during the session, and we didn't learn that until the end, so we felt really bad about that. He was really sweet and just kept telling us that it was okay, to not worry about him. We stopped for ice cream cones on the way home. Turner was very happy with his birthday party!
Turner is mildly (read: obsessively) into Rubik's cubes. He learned how to solve it recently, and wanted more of a challenge, so we got him some new cubes for his birthday. I also made him a super deluxe Rubik's cube cake. This was my inspiration:

Nailed it.
After Turner figure out what the cake was, he loved it!
Turner requested that we sing Happy Birthday "Robot Style."
He has since mastered the 2x2, 3x3 and 4x4. He has a cube in his hand all the time, occasionally even in his sleep. He loves them. It's fun to see him working hard at learning something, and actually figuring it out! And it's something he can do at home, in the car, and even in Primary! It keeps him occupied enough that he doesn't annoy people (as much).
Happy Birthday, Turner!!!
