Cross Country

My kids are not natural runners.  Neither am I!  But I made myself start running a few years ago and I love it now.  So when Regan and Turner both decided that they wanted to be on the school's cross country team I quickly agreed.  6:30 am practices are difficult especially because it messes with my running routine.  But they've been great at getting up and getting ready.

Saturday was their first meet.  Turner was scared to death.  He told me that he wasn't going to get out of the car.  He was afraid he would be last.

I eventually got him to go over and he found a friend and was fine.  He did great!  He was so proud of himself because he ran the whole way!  He definitely didn't get last!
Regan is not a natural athlete.  At all.  But there she is, finishing her mile run!  In fact, this is the only shot I got of her because I didn't expect her for a minute or two!  She beat her previous mile PR by THREE MINUTES!  And she almost puked!  I was so proud that she ran hard enough to feel nauseted!  You go girl!
At the end.  Glistening skin.  Smiling faces.  Love my little runners!
