Some things I do because they're easy.
Some things I do because I'm cheap.
Some things I do because I'm ghetto.
Usually it's a combination of the three. Take yesterday for example. Cooper wanted to wear his favorite grey sweats. Again. But they have a hole in the bottom. A hole that got considerably bigger as I was trying to convince him that he needed to change his clothes. When I saw the cute grey sweats with the giant hole in the bottom, I just couldn't throw them away. Partially because I'm cheap, partially because I'm nostalgic, but mostly because I'm ghetto. I remembered Hayden, Porter, Landon and Turner all wearing those same sweats. They were everyone's favorites! (They were Health-Tex, double knee sweats. Strong enough to make it through 4 1/2 boys)
A few days earlier, our garbage disposal started leaking and got water under the sink. That's where I had been keeping all of our plastic grocery bags. Dix got them all out when he replaced the garbage disposal and said, "You need to throw all these away!"
Of course I didn't. He just didn't want them under the sink anymore. Soooo....
I made a bag dispenser from Cooper's pants!
I giggled all day at my resourcefulness. I'm right up there with Maria, who made Captain Von Trapp's kids' clothes from the old drapes. (Did I ever show you the dress I made for Regan from my old sheets?)
So without further ado....
The bag pantspenser

Pretty amazing, huh? If you want to copy this idea, go ahead. But if you're not as ghetto as I am, you could cut out the pockets and put the bags in that way instead of through a giant hole in the bum. One of my kids, when he saw the finished project asked me if I was serious. I promised him I wouldn't display it in the living room and he was ok.So what do you think?
Have you done anything ghetto lately?
